Water Softeners
How the Pro H2O CWS1 1” Hi-Flow System softens water:
As hard water passes through the media tank, that contains resin beads coated with sodium ions, the calcium and magnesium ions are exchanged for sodium (or potassium) ions. This softens the water. The Hi-Flow’s control valve charges the hardness with the brine from the tank when the beads had trapped them and need to be regenerated.
Calcium and magnesium (hardness) ions are freed from the beads as regeneration occurs. It is replaced with sodium or potassium ions, and the system is ready to soften water again. For more information, please check out water softeners.
Iron & H₂S Filters
How the Iron Breaker III controls the iron and H2S in your home:
Until recently, the use of harsh chemicals and complicated equipment was the most common solution for iron and H2S found in water. The Ironbreaker III offers the “natural” solution for removing these chemicals. This technology uses nature's own oxidation process to eliminate iron and H2S without chemical, without air compressors, without aerator and without external venturis.
The Ironbreaker III stores a “bubble” of compressed well pressure air within the media tank. The iron or H2S is converted to a particle, as your water passes thru the air, which is then trapped by the catalytic filter media in the tank. While the air “bubble” is gradually consumed by the passing water. When the regeneration stage starts, the unit first “backwashes” itself. This removes any iron particles it has trapped. By drawing in atmosphere, the system then replenishes the “air bubble”, temporarily emptying the tank of all water and transferring oxygen molecules into and on the surface of the media bed where all oxidation occurs. After this finial stage, the system then returns to the “service” position, again filtering your water.
